The Illusion Of Trading Success (and income growth)
For many people, the idea of trading profitably is a big dream.
It would mean being able to live life on their own terms.
Unfortunately, the way most people see success is flawed.
You might also be thinking:
“Oh if I can just get to x, I'll be successful.”
But the issue with that is our perception of success changes over time.
As you get to x, you'll want to get to y.
Not only that but most traders I know who got to $10k/month feel like they haven't accomplished much – even though this was their original goal!
Now they aim for $20k/month and/or a bigger apartment.
I'm the same way…
When I began trading while traveling, making $2k/month was really hard.
I was living on less than $1,200/month and staying in cheap places.
And I had $0 saved.
But then, $5k/month got pretty effortless… I just had to do what I knew worked.
Fast-forward to today and $10k/month is easy
…but $20k/month is hard 🙂
Do I feel like I'm successful?
Not really, because I'm looking forward to achieving higher numbers.
And having a higher level of impact on other traders.
The point is, however, that you can always feel somewhat successful.
You got to appreciate what's you've worked hard to get.
But remember that there's always a lot more you can achieve.
